We spray paint a lot of UPVC and most projects are either grey or white. The only other colours our customers tend to request are reds and greens. We also get a few requests to colour match which we are happy to do.

The most popular colour of all
The most popular paint colour of all is RAL 7016 Anthracite Grey. This is a dark grey with a neutral tint, being neither cool or warm. It looks almost black in low light and lighter when the sun’s shining. It’s usually requested with a satin finish.
Popular greys excluding RAL 7016 include RAL 7015 Slate Grey, RAL 7021 Black Grey and RAL 7043 Traffic Grey. These are all mid-dark greys. We hardy ever spray UPVC light grey, with no real middle ground between white and dark grey. The last light grey we sprayed was RAL 7005 Mouse Grey, and even that is a more medium tone.
RAL 9016 Traffic White is the most popular white because it is a perfect colour match for factory fresh UPVC. Old UPVC painted in this colour looks new. The second most popular is RAL 9010 Pure White. This is a close match for UPVC that’s a year old – it isn’t as bright or as eye-catching and therefore blends in more. It’s understated.
Other than grey and white, a popular colour is green, especially in rural settings. RAL 6020 Chrome Green is popular for garage doors and front doors, while RAL 6001 Emerald Green is popular for outdoor furniture because it’s a little brighter. Popular colours for sheds and small outbuildings include RAL 6003 Olive Green and RAL 6009 Fir Green.
Red is a popular colour for front doors and post boxes. The only reds we tend to spray are RAL 3028 Pure Red which is the same as the Royal Mail use, and RAL 3001 Signal Red which is much more toned down but just as pure. We sometimes spray garden furniture made from plastic in RAL 3009 Oxide Red or RAL 3007 Black Red.
In addition to these the most popular UPVC paint colours, we also offer a colour matching service. Call us on 0800 037 0658 to book your free home survey.
