2019 is the year of greys. Dark-medium grey is by far and away the most popular UPVC colour, lapping up 70% of the colour changes requested with us. The most popular shade is RAL 7016 Anthracite Grey, followed by RAL 7012 Basalt Grey.
Black is also in. RAL 9005 Jet Black is a supremely dark shade and is popular for gutters, cladding and elements on houses that need to blend in, not stand out. RAL 9004 Signal Black is also popular, as is RAL 9011 Graphite Black.
White is popular too. Some of our customers contact us just wanting to renew the appearance of their white UPVC units, and for this the recommended colour is RAL 9010 Pure White. This is a white paint but has 5% yellow pigment. No UPVC is true white even when factory fresh, making this a better match than so-called brilliant white which can give the appearance of being too bright.
Now we move onto colours. By far and away the most popular UPVC colours outside of greys, blacks and whites, in rural areas at least, are greens. RAL 6001 Leaf Green is a very popular colour for garage doors while RAL 6010 Grass Green is popular for garden furniture, cladding, gutters and doors.
Speaking of doors, black is always the number one colour requested, however red is also extremely popular. RAL 3000 Flame Red is the most popular red for front doors. RAL 3002 Carmine Red and RAL 3004 Purple Red are also popular.
Brown was a popular colour in 2017 and 2018, but we have seen less requests for this in 2019. Most people are now opting for green over a brown colour change. Of course we can also paint brown UPVC any colour.
We can spray paint your UPVC units any colour on the RAL Colour Chart and on the British Standard Colour Chart. We can also colour match for you.
